Paul Rand is a perfect example: insists on taking time to be with his family but thinks the working class and poor should not have the same privileges as he has. Some people are better than others? You take the stinking attitude. This country is becoming like Jolly Old England. Does it dawn on one of your well-heed jerks? Or do you not give a damn about anything but yourself?
You idiot anti-abortionist who think you are on the side of morality are as stupid as they get. People with money can go outside the US to get an abortion, but you anti-abortionist torment the poor and lower classes, doesn't take much in this political system to screw the poor. Especially, with the stinking attitude that the poor are lazy and deserve the torment you are so willing to give to them.
You anti-abortionist play right into the hands of the well to do. Who in hell do you think get killed and maimed on the front lines of the wars you are so willing to tolerate? Abundant children mean more potential soldiers and low paying jobs. And you don't even take care of your wounded in war. Take a good look at what you are doing if you have any honesty, its ugly.
You who have money and power are the PROBLEM, not the teachers, public schools, etc, YOU and your sick moral ideals. I wish the 99% would get enough of your selfish garbage and start make like a living hell for you as you have done to countless.
Your market will decide crap, kills people, the government makes you be responsible for food that doesn't kill you and you idiots wants to kill government power so you can make more money! Take a good honest look at yourself if you have the courage..YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.

(7,886 posts)Who are you to question them?
There is no "in another way" for this. It's like saying "no, I meant gay in a trash in the street way" you can't separate it from other meanings, and by doing so you continue to harm people you know and care about.
Oneironaut
(5,504 posts)If I say, "Everyone should follow Jesus's teachings" and then do the exact opposite, that doesn't make any sense. The type that that the OP is talking about won't shut up about "Gawd," but at the same time doesn't follow those teachings either. They mostly cherry pick things that suit their agendas.
I don't believe in God, so "Godless" is meaningless as an insult to me. Why would I care if someone is claiming that I don't follow a goofy, all-powerful sky-fairy? It's not even an insult.
Lordquinton
(7,886 posts)And it's meant as an insult and promotes centuries- no millenia of hate and oppression and yes even murder of those deemed "goddless" so it actually is a big deal.
And they will point to your post saying it's fine with you and ignore the dozens of other posts saying it's wrong. Think about that.

(14,858 posts)Most Christians I know ignore that particular teaching. Does that make them Godless? Will Jesus deny them because love their families, against his very clear instructions?
Luke 14:25
Jesus also said he'll reward those who abandon their families for him. Are deadbeat parents the best Christians, then? He doesn't even want them to say goodbye or explain what they're up to, they're supposed to leave the family to wonder what the hell happened to them and to file a missing person report.

I really do understand every single thing they believe, why, and I know it is not possible to change them UNTIL they personally experience that which they want to take from others - until they have to choose between bread and the antibiotics that keep them from vomiting all day long, they wont understand.
I feel like I and you and others, we have been patient.
We have explained it to them over and over.
I am out of patience, but I dont want to be.

(14,858 posts)I can't imagine how it is you're not a conservative, since you don't have Jesus in your life to tell you it's harmful and destructive and just plain wrong. You couldn't possibly figure out on your own that Republican policies are bad news.

And here I thought God is the one who ultimately decides who is really a Christian and who isn't. Did he need some time off, so he hired the job out the OP, or what?

Children from religious families were less likely to share with others than were children from non-religious families (...). A religious upbringing also was associated with more punitive tendencies in response to anti-social behavior. (...)
For the altruism task, children participated in a version of the Dictator Game, in which they were given 10 stickers and provided an opportunity to share them with another unseen child. Altruism was measured by the average number of stickers shared.
For the moral sensitivity task, children watched short animations in which one character pushes or bumps another, either accidentally or purposefully. After seeing each situation, children were asked about how mean the behavior was and the amount of punishment the character deserved. (NB: Muslim kids dish out the harshest punishments) (...)
Children from religious households favored stronger punishments for anti-social behavior and judged such behavior more harshly than non-religious children. (...) Together, these results reveal the similarity across countries in how religion negatively influences childrens altruism. (...)
