George Will Doubles Down on Catfight With Bill "Balloon" O'Reilly.

I've always wondered why David Letterman never had George Will on his 'Stupid Human Tricks' show. Every few days Will performs his amazing trick of eating a thesarus, and then shitting an Op/Ed column, to the amazement of his audience. It never has much substance, but you can bet on it having a lot of big words! Also, a bit of name dropping, some quotes from 'classic' books that only the true egghead could appreciate; and a few baseball analogies thrown in to prove he's still a man of the people.

This week he continued his catfight with Bill O'Reilly over who is the bigger hot-air balloon. Will was understandably upset over O'Reilly pulling a book entitled 'Killing Reagan' out of his ass that was completely void of fact or research, and was simply a rehash of second hand gossip from other peoples' books. Will felt that was an obvious infringement of HIS copyright, and went after O'Reilly.

BILL O'REILLY MAKES A MESS OF HISTORY

"But neither O'Reilly nor [co-author Martin] Dugard spoke with any of those aides -- not with Ed Meese, Jim Baker, George Shultz or any of the scores of others who could, and would, have demolished O'Reilly's theory. O'Reilly now airily dismisses them because they "have skin in the game." His is an interesting approach to writing history: Never talk to anyone with firsthand knowledge of your subject."

Well MEEE-OW. How is that different from ANYTHING Fox News does?

Still, I have to admit, that was a lowpoint even for O'Reilly. Will points out that he didn't talk to a single person from the Reagan Administration about this, and O'Reilly claims that a good journalist SHOULDN'T talk to people with first hand knowledge of events because they're biased. And Fox News is 'unbiased,' right? If 'unbiased' means deliberately ignorant, then yes, that's definitely O'Reilly and Fox.
