Young Turks host Ana Kasparian slammed Republicans on Wednesday Veterans Day for dismissing any question about US military actions like the Iraq War by accusing critics of not respecting the troops.
No, you dont respect the troops, she argued. You use the troops as an excuse to go to war in a country where we dont belong. And on top of that, you deny them of incredibly important health benefits so they can get the treatment they need when they come back to the United States.
The Reich Wing will fight to the last drop of your children's blood and then happily deny them services and label them as miserable takers.

(12,157 posts)To them the only good vet is a dead vet. All the rest are just takers. They love to send our military to war but they never want to support them once they are through with them. "WAM! BAM! thank you Ma'am and Sir!"
If only those in active service and veterans would just figure out that the pukes are not their friends they would be living up to the oath they swore to defend the constitution.

(63,912 posts)to our wounded servicemen and women. I was just so mad! It's a horrible injustice.
We have a VA hospital very nearby and a doc I know who works there talks about his patients...in his words "these are very sick folks..." and he says it with such sadness and caring in his voice. What he has seen there in his work as an anesthesiologist has evoked an enormous amount of sorrow in me. He has a population of down and out men and women who are alcoholics and mostly in poverty and estranged from their families. It makes me feel ashamed of my aches and pains, when I think about what they have gone through...they shouldn't EVER have to live this way, given their sacrifice...

(21,744 posts)It's all up and down the line and nothing new about people voting against their own interests at all. We used to want to help our neighbor raise a barn with no regard for anything in return. Now we "stand our ground", begrudge needy people any help, and want to get rich from educating our children.
The Republican Party should be extinct, but thanks to the RW talk machine, they are thriving and pulling shit like this. But, ultimately, it's the people who put them in office that shoulder the blame.
