Why do the scroungers always take over?

I have never understood this.. been part of other discussion areas and seen it happen before.. A site will start up for discussion and people come in to exchange ideas, and then the scroungers find it.. and they lay waste to it.. they come in and only their ideas have merit and the hell with everyone else.. and they will sit there day after day.. till they drive everyone away except a few.. and then they go running to find where everyone went so they can start the whole stinking process over again..

but there are a lot of them and some boards attract them more than others. The Yahoo discussion groups are littered with them, I don't think I've ever seen a discussion there go on for more than a few days before it becomes infested.

When I first got online I found a political site.. actually three of them..and they were all fun discussions..people of all political persuasions.. and they all went to hell in a hand basket with the scroungers..

It's as if a site only has a certain half-life of good, intelligent discussion.

Even this site has degenerated significantly, though not as far as some.

that they can bully everyone. They can't do that is real life so they jump in on the computer to show off their stupidity.. real key board warriors.. would probably wet their pants if someone confronted them for their views in real time..
