I've always enjoyed having friends who have boats and just buying the gas and the beer.

(30,481 posts)I fully agree with your sentiment. It was much easier filling my friends cooler than it is actually being the owner.

(21,086 posts)Man the things I've seen people do when launching or trailering a boat are amazing. Last one was an owner driving a 60K Mastercraft right smack into a dock at about 20mph. And they hit if sort of off the bottom side so it nearly rolled over too boot.
My fav was the family that got pissed at each other and the Father started throwing everything into the water surrounding the launch including the cooler of beer.

(30,481 posts)back his F150 into the water. The front bumper was at the water line. He backed it down, went a couple of feet further than he wanted, and still had it in reverse when he went to bring it out a little.
When you think you are about to go forward and end up going in reverse the thrust of your body goes forward.

(21,086 posts)who have an 8 or 12 ft. basic fishing boat who take f o r e v e r to put it in and then, and then, they tie the damn thing up to the dock or the wife does the hold onto ropes thing at the dock cuz' she can't drive the boat and the guy has gone to park or retrieve the truck/trailer.
Then there are the people who let their kids swim at a boat launch. Duh!
