Bernie Sanders and even trump's fellow conservatives think he's unhinged, and off the rails.

Presidential candidates in both parties on Monday swiftly condemned real estate mogul Donald Trump's statement proposing to ban all Muslims from immigrating to the United States.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) denounced Trump for promoting divisiveness.

"The U.S. is a strong nation when we stand together. We are weak when we allow racism and xenophobia to divide us. cc: @realDonaldTrump"

On the GOP side, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) condemned Trump for his divisiveness.

"I disagree with Donald Trump's latest proposal. His habit of making offensive and outlandish statements will not bring Americans together."

Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) similarly called Trump's proposal "outrageous divisiveness," and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) called on all of the presidential candidates "to do the right thing and condemn Trump's statement."

"@Realdonaldtrump has gone from making absurd comments to being downright dangerous with his bombastic rhetoric."

Several GOP candidates did not outright condemn Trump but called into question the practicality and substance of his proposal, like former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R-Fla.).
