Although I could see him being like Ford -- combining policy work (like Ford did with Carter) with sitting on a lot of Boards of Directors and public speaking.

He could have had his offices there; then left them to wander off to golf; then go check on the jet-ski stand; and then go back home around 2:30 in the afternoon for cocktails with Michelle.

Only the elite and privileged would be able to go to Hawaii to see the library.

I'd rather it be in Chicago.

Hawaii would have simply been more fun. Honestly, I don't know if his library will simply be a museum (like Clinton) or if he'll maintain an office and occasionally hold court there (like Truman).

He'll likely have less financial stress than those two.

I suspect a foundation is in the works.

I've heard that he's supposed to be doing some lecturing in 2017. I wonder if being a university President might be in his future.

He's way too young to stop trying to make the world better. And he's not a conservative, so that doesn't mean only his little "my people" world.

And I voted for that ... but its possible he'll focus on inner city problems. As President, he really could not touch problems that proportionally impact African Americans harder than other groups.

But when he's out of office, he'd be able to do so, and do so with great effect.

He'll be remembered as having been an outstanding President, for all the whining from parts of the left, and the racist BS from the right. The reality is, he stopped the economic crash that was going to match the Great Depression.

He's also rather young. So I suspect he'll stay very active. Michelle too. And hey, perhaps he'll start with some foundation work to improve the lives of struggling Americans, and THEN head off to the SCOTUS.

He's a multi-tasker ... he could do multiple things on this list, easily!!!

You said it. I didn't necessarily agree with the way the stimulus money was spent, but he did pretty well with the flaming wreckage he inherited, and it bothers me a lot that people seem to be forgetting what f***ed up conditions Barack Obama inherited from Junior Bush.

His daughters are young and I bet he'll want to try to make up time he's missed while being President.
Write a book.
Then, I think maybe he'll step back into politics... guest speaking, endorsing candidates, etc...

So Sasha's college search will begin fairly soon. So I can see where he'd want to hang around with the family. Also, I suspect Michelle has a post-WH to-do list.

I think he'd love to do that, but he would also do something more worthwhile, as well.

Nine + years of campaigning and being the president of the U.S. has been extremely difficult on his family. I hope he gets to do what he truly loves, since he deserves it so much. I might not always agree with everything he's done, but he's been a good president and he is a good man.

Seems a waste of a very talented man.

Probably something related to Middle East peace if it isn't US domestic politics. I'm sure Barack will have a lot to say on the topic once he's away from the power of certain lobby groups.

after we blow up the most-winnable Presidential election in my lifetime by nominating a former First Lady most Americans detest.

I wish it wasn't so but there's enough personality-cultists of the Cult of Hillary to make her nomination seem likely, if unfortuitous, for those of us who don't want a Republican President.

I'd think he'd be so sick of trying to deal with the GOP obstruction he'd be counting the days to get the heck out of Washington.
