chairs waiting for the Jade Helm invasion won't like the president's proposals, that's for sure.

Instead of the almost certain declarations that Obama is coming for their guns, they should be asked which president it was who came for their brains.

And took every one of them.

Sure, they can talk impeachment, but the proven remedy is the courts. I'm guessing they'll be seeking injunctions almost immediately.

it wouldn't be an issue of the gun culture, it would be an issue of how far a President can go with executive orders.

And I've seen no evidence that the courts are ready to support any kind of ban on private gun ownership. In fact, other than SCOTUS, they can't.

... is that the GOP has not, as yet, impeached Mr Obama, and time is running out. Possibly they think they couldn't get the votes, but that didn't stop them from impeaching Mr Clinton, so I am truly puzzled as to why they forebore... if they really dislike him as much as they say. (Note that I am quite sure the power structure of the GOP has opinions that are divergent from those of their base. It could well be that, despite rhetoric to the contrary, most of the non-Teahaddist Republicans are satisfied with Mr Obama. But again, why would the same not apply to Mr Clinton?)

Plus they don't have a fowl jerk going after the president like president Clinton did. I forgot the guy's name but he's the sole reason for the impeachment. Oh yeah ken Starr. Yuk!

There will be some proforma squawking but nothing more.

I predict gun control advocates will be more upset at him for not going further.

There will be some low level screeching but from a legal standpoint there is not a lot he can do with executive orders. I suspect banning open and concealed carry in any federal building etc. but there won't be anything sweeping in the order.
