There are always exceptions.

I noticed you posted this as an OP before. http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024853876

The origination of this quote, which was pointed out on the other thread as well.

"And while Ronald Reagan was the Governor of California, he stated his view on guns in May of 1967 when Black Panther Party members walked into the California Statehouse carrying rifles to protest a gun-control bill. “There’s no reason why on the street today a citizen should be carrying loaded weapons.”

He also said the fastest way to get white pro-gun people to turn around on supporting open carry is to get lots of black people to take full advantage of the law.
This may have been on Hartman's show. Possibly Wayne Bessen (who's on after Hartman in Chicago).

but I agree with the statement. I don't think people other than cops should be carrying loaded guns around in public. I wasn't brought up that way, and I think it's wrong. It tells the kids that this behavior is normal when they see it, and that makes me sick. Own what you like, but keep it at home. If you're going somewhere that you think a gun might come in handy, maybe you should re-think going to that place. And if you're so scared that you think you need a gun everywhere you go, it might be time to seek counseling.
