Here's a thing that could "possibly" happen if Republicans take over: They undo the ACA, millions of people lose health-insurance because the Republicans still have no replacement after 5 years of promises to come up with a replacement, millions of people go bankrupt and thousands die because they can't afford to treat their illnesses.

So, if Republicans take over, millions of people will descend into poverty and thousands will die.

Possibly.

But don't bring that up or you hurt the fee-fees of the GOP.

. . .if he's talking about what could happen in liberals take over, then why have they been complaining about liberals for the past 30 years. Their rhetoric would suggest that they already think liberals have taken over.

So, which is it? Of course, everyone here knows that liberals haven't actually taken over (more like some common sense has seeped in over the last 50 years) and that more liberalism doesn't lead to scratching crosses of 100 year old gravestones.

But, they are complaining about liberalism like it's already in charge ("take my country back&quot or they're worried about what happens if liberals get to be in charge. It can't be both, right?

I bet you even have trouble combining the facts that Obama is a Muslim AND attended church-service of a racist black pastor. Or that he's so weak and ineffective that he can't protect the US against foreign enemies, but he's a ruthless dictator slowly strangling your freedom domestically.

They are pissed and you can't explain that rationally, because they are lying about why they are pissed.

They are not at the same time pissed about liberals having taken over and about liberals taking over in the future. They are pissed that their demographic isn't catered to in the way that their culture promised them they would be catered to.

To quote a true patriot, CIA-agent Stan Smith from the series "American Dad":
"The good old times! When white, christian men held all the power in this country instead of merely most of it!"

I don't think Trump believes 1/10 of the stuff he says. Cruz however, is a ideologue. Those are really bad.

It's amusing to imagine that Liberals would have the sort of power to accomplish that; but of course we don't and we never have.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if presented outside of a discussion with Cruz, if some here felt like that was appropriate. Arlington is a government maintained graveyard, and having religious symbols on government ground, even in this case, might not be seen as appropriate.

He shut down the government for no sane reason. That's not an argument that is a stupid, short sighted, and insane action. His voting record in the senate is one of an insane idiot. There is no reason to believe his religious nuttiness is not real and as president he will not act on them. He has certainly acted on them while a senator.
