People need to realize how brave this sister is.

Last edited Sat Jan 9, 2016, 01:41 PM - Edit history (2)

A Muslim woman was escorted out of Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump’s rally in South Carolina on Friday after she stood up in silent protest.

Trump commented on Hamid as she was being ejected:
“There is hatred against us that is unbelievable. It’s their hatred, it’s not our hatred,” Trump said.

Trump has stoked antipathy against Muslims by calling for a total ban on Muslim immigration into the U.S. Since making the announcement Trump’s standing in the polls has only improved.

According to Hamid, one person shouted, “You have a bomb, you have a bomb,” CNN reported.

“The ugliness really came out fast and that’s really scary,” she told CNN after she was escorted out of the venue.

Hamid added that several people around her held her hand and said “sorry” as she was forced to leave.

.........................”

Hamid told CNN before the event that she didn’t plan to disrupt the event, but wanted to give Trump’s supporters some insight as to what Muslims are like.

Now there is so much information easily available about the dangers of this kind of hatred that wasn't around for the Germans. Willfully ignoring this sea of information and continuing down this path today -- there really is no excuse for it.

but it's one thing to do so out of motivation or even power-hungry expediency, and quite another to look at all that and say, "damn, he should've gone further than that"

lotsa dead, unemployed, and imprisoned black folk, for doing nothing more than trying to live with a different skin tone. It may even be worse than it has been in some time.

It might go the other direction just as easy. I've seen it, in this country, i different decades. These people are no different.

Maybe even a few people at a Trump rally are capable of realizing that she shouldn't have been kicked out.

But what I think is likelier is that they lied in order to get in and said they supported him but really don't. Either way, I'm glad she got a little encouragement and kindness as she left. What a brave woman.

Hopefully, this incident caused them to look at themselves and say, "What the hell am I doing here, supporting this vulgar, hateful sack of feces?" Just wishful thinking, unfortunately.

Ms. Hamid has a much stronger stomach than I do. I could never bring myself to attend one of those rallies. I couldn't stomach being amid all that hate and crazy. Ick. Just ick. It's like swimming in a putrid cesspool.
