Voters & Apathy Voted Away The American Dreams Since 1980.

When Reagan was elected the American Dream was put on a "death march". It took 36 years to put us where we are. As I have said before it was SO OBVIOUS by early 1981. Yet every election cycle I kept seeing GOPPERS win election. Every year voters we're fooled and I can see all the tipping points. Workers bought the GOP bullshit and "trickle down economics". And voters never pushed back.

There were two really key things that happened. One was the destruction of PATCO and there was NO push back. Two was Reagan saying he was going to cut the budget and close key agencies and started a war on the "war on poverty".

When Reagan said we would transition into a "service economy" it was code for low wages, no unions, no security, fewer benefits, the scuttling of the safety net et al. It was code for the corporations were going to be given government.

There were THREE key memes played over an over again. Remember. "Get the government off your back" and "Government needs to run like a business." "GOVERNMENT IS NOT THE SOLUTION TO A PROBLEM IT IS THE PROBLEM"

Then the GOP pulled out the race card, empowered the fundamentalist religious movement and set on a mission to corrupt the main stream media.

I know I can tell the whole story because I watched it unfold every cycle. The takeover of the media, massive deregulation, taking over the Supreme Court, getting rid of affirmative action, weakening labor laws and federal enforcement, gutting wage growth, proposing damaging trade agreements (that Democrats helped pass because of fear), trashing voting rights, manipulating the election machinery and contracting out to corporate interests, et al.

I can go on and on. I am amazed so much of what Reagan started and was advanced by the Bushes and their allies has now come to pass. And in this election putting in a GOPPER will permanently kill the American Dream and END the middle class.

Reagan was the start of a right wing and business conspiracy to destroy the labor and employment structure that existed and replace it with what we now have. It was a conspiracy to enrich the already rich and create even richer individuals. If you do not understand look at how many billionaires and multimillionaires we have now since 1980. And look at how big our mega corporations are now. And look at our banks.

This takeover was well planned an workers and voters took the bait.

Sanders wants to reinstate the New Deal. He's against corporate monopoly and for small entrepreneurs. He's for single payer, free college and stronger Social Security. He's for unions and backs them instead of just paying lip service to them. He's against the so called 'free trade' which has cost America hundreds of thousands of good jobs. He's for revising the corporate tax code to make sure corporations and billionaires pay their fair share. He wants to reinstate Glass-Steagall and rein in Wall Street. He wants to create massive infrastructure programs that employ Americans. He wants to raise minimum to $15.

With Clinton we'll continue to have slow erosion.

With Trump or any of the other GOP crazies, we'll be like Calvin and Hobbes sledding headlong down the hill to certain doom.

With Sanders we have a chance.
