UPDATE: 10 a.m. Sunday: The National Weather Service reported this morning that, with the wind chill, it felt as cold as 31 below zero in some Nebraska and Iowa cities.
The weather service noted that wind chills hit 31 below in Davey, 30 below in Ralston, 29 below in several communities, including Norfolk and Beatrice, and 28 below at the Harlan, Iowa, airport.
Wind chills of 26 below were recorded at the Council Bluffs airport and 22 below at Omaha's Eppley Airfield. Other wind chill readings included: 26 below at the Fremont airport, 24 below at the Blair airport and 23 below at the Lincoln, Blair, Plattsmouth and Red Oak, Iowa, airports.
