I am now convinced more than ever that the Trump' campaign is a long con designed to destroy the GOP

....I think it all started with Trump's birther nonsense a few years ago, and continues to today's Palin endorsement. I would not be surprised if Palin was paid upwards of $75 million for this. And i also think she is unaware of this long con.

Perhaps Trump is "taking one for the team" (Democrats) in this con game.

Like Cruz or Hucksbee.

That said, there's just enough of a nut if possible truth in what you say to Rufus's it completely.

The big question then is why.

1.
He is really a democrat at heart, and wants to secure a democrat win. So he is is simply portraying a caricature of a Republican to sabotage that party.

2.
He craves the limelight...he is now covered in the media 24/7 which is much more intense than his previous media status.

3.
He enjoys "getting one over" the public. It's all part of his "art of the deal" persona.

Calls all Mexicans rapists.

Calls for a ban on Muslim immigrants and gets endorsed by a major white supremacist group.

Tells a female reporter that she's being a bitch because she's on her period.

Short of fucking MURDERING a person (and even then I'd have my doubts), what scandal do you see Trump committing that will turn off his supporters at this point?

The man is a megalomaniac with delusions of Godhood. I don't see him as any sort of Democratic plant; just a wannabe fascist with enough money to pose a serious threat to this country's future.

... Palin from Cruz was a brilliant move whatever it cost. She endorsed Cruz's senate run and he moosecruised all over her for it. I'm sure the Cruz campaign was assuming she was on board. Triumph could have had an affair with Teds wife and it wouldn't have been as painful.

I can't imagine Donald Trump not wanting to be the most powerful person in the world. I'm sure he thinks it's what he deserves.

lark, a bit of spotlight grabbing, figuring it would be an amusing way to pass the time, burnish his brand, and maybe drum up interest in his show's next season.

He was probably as surprised as anyone when he soon became the frontrunner and the center of every spotlight. At that point, even when his mouth started costing him money and business connections, his narcissism would not let him surrender center stage or the adulation of his crowds. At 69, everything else is same-old-same-old. He wants to wallow in the glory as long as possible in these, his sunset years.

Besides, he is such a narcissist that he can't imagine NOT coming out the winner.

Plain and simple.

He's not there to either destroy the GOP or help the Democrats.

He's there because he's Donald Trump and he needs to be the center of all attention.
