Roughly where do you live and how are you (if at all) getting around, and if you own a car, what have you done with it?

I'm so grateful for my warm dry apartment.
If so, do you think it'll last?

(21,847 posts)This area did okay during Sandy. A little north of here, where Riverdale meets Yonkers, lost power during Sandy; I hope they don't have a similar problem with this storm.
staying put. Nobody unnesential should be going anywhere.

(11,093 posts)she doesn't live in Queens anymore, but we have lots of relatives that do. Most are reporting that it's skirting Long Island - it's mainly NYC itself getting screwed.

(4,741 posts)Wind's still howling and it's still coming down, but it's a vanishgly small chance we'll lose power/heat because of the protected infrastructure.
Just finished a big ol' plate of biscuits and gravy, gonna digest for a bit and then go make snow angels
