If Trump gets away with skipping a debate nothing in politics will ever surprise me

I will go out on a limb and say Cruz wins Iowa on the strength of his organization.

Usually sports and politics are reasonably easy to predict if you don't let your heart get in the way but this campaign season defies all explanations

So, who knows?

Plenty of admirable people take on Fox News.

But taking on Fox News does not automatically make you an admirable person.

But a republican calling out and defying FAUX is a huge help to the Democrats.

Trump is not a threat to Democrats. FAUX is. Anything that strangles that beast is to be applauded.

Here is what Trump will do.

He will orchestrate a situation where he leaves to make a 3rd party run and if he now has 35% of the GOP behind him, he will end up with 10% or so when the election happens, just enough to make sure Karl Rove's stealing of the election wont work.

Just enough to make sure the millions of Black people and students who will be illegally prevented from voting, wont matter.

Just enough to make sure Hillary is the next prez.

Now, the only problem here is BERNIE. Since the goal he is working on is getting Hillary in the WH, what does he do about Bernie?

Nothing, which is why Bloomberg enters the picture.

The rest is obvious.

As everybody knows, I am happy with either Hillary or Bernie, prefer Bernie.

Trump's ego is on auto-pilot - he is in it to win it

his problem is that he sees the republican base as the entire population

majority of voters are Dems and you can't gerrymander a general election

he will be their nominee but will lose to the Dem

but he needs FOX viewers eventually. This seems like a big mistake, unless he destroys the FOX hold on the Repquackies. That would be delicious.

She's the shiny object FAUX wants to be their public face. They've spent a lot of PR resources building her up.

Trump has played this well so far. FAUX is in a lose-lose position--which is great for Democrats!

Apparently T-rump can't handle women who questions him, nor anybody else which is sooooooooooooooo dangerous.

Side note: I don't think he will get the GOP nomination.

Cruz is too unlikable and the debate will be a bore without Trump.

He's not helpful since it's all about him but the fallout could be a lowering of the Fox brand.

So Trump's antics may have nothing to do with politics in general, but may reflect more on how deeply the GOP is sinking.

He is a master at manipulating the media. With this move, he has solidified his position among his supporters, insured that he will be in the news until the primary, rendering the debate moot.

it will be interesting... But, I'm wondering if this is his way of exiting the race "with dignity?" I can easily imagine his campaign imploding after this (and I presume a series of additional (carefully planned?) erratic decisions).
