NO BAIL For Oregon Militia

http://realtimepolitics.com/2016/01/30/no-bail-for-oregon-militia/

This is refreshing. Ammon Bundy, along with 9 others, had their bail hearings Friday and were refused bail due to the fear they will not return for trial. The prosecutor stated that Bundy, et al, lacked ties to Oregon, and due to their previous public postings disavowing the federal court system, we’re too much of a risk to allow bail.

They've had a vacation on federal land plus free snacks and dildos.

Nobody sends the rest of us free vacation deals, never mind snacks and dildos.

that photo, doesn't she?

In the recent Harper's magazine, here is an exchange between a reporter seeking emails from Davis' office under the Freedom of Information Act:

Is she afraid of forwarded mail possibly being forwarded to someone else?

Also, if the e-mail being requested is from her personally, isn't it conflict of interest for her to be filling that request? How does anyone know she is being honest in what she sending and how would you check that?

They are a danger to a peaceful society.

I hope they never get out, & they lose all their assets.

I think the judge's rationale for refusing bail is that "the occupation continues, with 4 militia
hold-overs still at the Refuge. Putting this together with Bundy's video calling for "an end to
the occupation", I find myself wondering if it's a quid pro quo, i.e. if Bundy can talk the remaining
4 to stand-down and leave; then the judge may reconsider the bail thing.

I really hope this isn't the case, because I agree these guys have been given WAY too much
"rope" already, and would still be flight risks even if the 4 hold-outs leave the Refuge.

I echo the sentiments above. I've ceased buying beef and if I ever find I'm buying something that was produced by the Bundy thieves, I'll gnaw my hand off for reaching into my wallet.

Totally unnecessary drama from adults that act like children.

I think it is a decent compromise to give each one of them unfettered access to roughly 6'x9' of Federal property.

It took the feds forever and a day to act, but now that they have, they seem to be handling this correctly. I'm hoping Bundy et al. get very long sentences.

How Hate, Extremism Were Baked Into The ‘Patriot’ Militia Pie
By Matt Osborne on January 26, 2016

This is the first installment of a three-day series on extremist elements participating in the Oregon takeover.

White supremacists have been documented among the armed group holding the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge near Burns, Oregon, but their presence isn’t a surprise to anyone who pays attention to the patriot movement. Racism, anti-Semitism, and separatist organizing have been part of that movement for over a quarter-century. Events at Malheur are not taking place in a vacuum. The residents of Burns, Oregon are right to be worried, for the sons of welfare rancher Cliven Bundy may present their occupation to the world as a ‘wise use’ campaign, but it is not, and there are elements within its ranks whose presence should alarm us all.

Two weeks ago, Oregon Public Broadcasting discovered that David Fry, who seems to serve as the Bundy group’s webmaster and social media presence, is also an outspokenly-racist anti-Semite and militant enthusiast of Adolf Hitler. Hate group monitors have documented at least five different white supremacist tattoos on Rance Harris, who has ’88’ inked on two fingers as a numerical symbol for ‘Heil Hitler.’ Their apparent solidarity with the Bundy cult especially resonates with me after watching the critically-acclaimed documentary Welcome to Leith, which tells the disturbing story of white supremacist Craig Cobb’s 2012 almost-successful attempt to take control of a small North Dakota town. Like the situation at Malheur, law enforcement agencies were unwilling to intervene. ...............
