Passengers applauded when a family was forced off a plane after their son had an allergic reaction

How sick are people?

_____________
After a family trip to Washington, 7-year-old Giovanni boarded an Allegiant Air flight home with his mother Christina Fabian, and dad, George Alvarado.

But instead of heading back to Arizona, the family was forced to get off the plane after Giovanni had an allergic reaction and delayed takeoff, King 5 News reports. To add insult to injury: other passengers clapped as the family headed off the plane.

"He started to get hives, so we informed the flight attendant who informed us that there's dogs on every flight and just smirked, which minimized his experience for me," Fabian said. "They helped us off the plane, but as we gathered our stuff the people toward the back of the plane clapped."

Giovanni's father has terminal cancer, so the purpose of the trip was to spend some quality time together.

for those of us that are pro-public safety or are allergic to those animals. Those dog animals outnumber children almost 3 to 2 so they're everywhere increasing the danger of animal attacks constantly and are a constant threat of death for those with serious allergies. It's sad what those dog people have done to this city.

This "emotional support animal" policy is so bogus. You can buy a certification online, and the animals don't even have to be trained. They are uncaged and, unlike pets that fit in a small cage that can fit under the seat (for which a fee is charged), they fly for free. People with real service dogs (such as the blind) don't even like it.

Hamsters don't need dogs. They can get on and off the plane just fine without the help of any dogs.

be circulating. Better for the child to get out of the environment and let his allergic reaction calm down. I avoid pet hair and dander, cat and rabbit specifically, due to an allergic reaction to it.

It's always best to judge an emotional story based on one side's account of it.

First off, I get that it hurt their feelings to have the plane cheer when they got off. I totally get that. Boo and hiss for bad taste. I'm sure Miss Manners would not approve.

What I am not clear on, however, is what EXACTLY happened prior to them being escorted off the plane? Was it a huge histrionic scene that was supremely annoying to any and all that were forced to hear it? Was there whining? Crying? Was it a delay that other passengers felt was unwarranted? Were there demands made that the dog be removed?

I'm not a heartless cow, but I am gonna say that one of the main reasons I loathe flying so much is there are a lot of people out there that are just assholes who think the world revolves around them and what they want. Dunno if that was the case with that family or maybe the rest of the plane's passengers--can't really tell from the reports I read. I will say, however, that I generally, have developed a real impatience with the attitude that is out there that "...just because I have a problem with ____ YOU can't have it."

Again, I am probably missing something here because I see it as bad taste, but not anything all that actionable.

I'm thinking that how they look might have induced that cheering when they were kicked off the plane. Prejudice sometimes comes right to the surface. It appears to have done so this time. Nasty people.

If we were to take people like this at their words then we'd believe the Bundys were unarmed and just camping out at that refuge in protest or Anna Ayala just happened to find a finger in her chili.

I think once cameras become the norm on planes, stories like this will either quickly be discredited or stop all together.

Like around 150 flights per year.

The very few times I've seen passengers happy to see people taken off a plane is when the removed passengers were being complete assholes.

I'm a bit suspicious of this story especially with the comment that the flight attendant "smirked" at the allergic reaction.

Something doesn't add up in this account.
