SALEM — Last fall, Oregon lawmakers troubled by the presence of Mississippi's Confederate-marked flag outside the Capitol agreed to wait to pull it down, in case Mississippi officials managed to make a change first.

That chance came and went in Mississippi's legislature last week.

... Democratic leaders agree the controversial flag will come down within days.

"After attempting again this week to reach out to leadership in both the Mississippi House and Senate, I now believe it is time for us to act," he said ...
