For Fucks Sake: Now Tony Blair is claiming the Thrid Way Brand is a "Progressive Movement"

PAaleeeeeeeeeze you Sleazy War Hawk .... STFU

This Clintonian Strategy of "Rebranding" themselves as Progressives is just plain disgusting.

This essay from Tony Blair is part of the “Global Progress: New Ideas for the Future of the Global Progressive Movement” booklet in which world leaders discuss how progressives can overcome obstacles and lead a new, global progressive movement. Each individual essay can be found here.

I remember the 1999 Florence Conference on Progressive Governance conference so well. It came at a time of great tension in Europe and the Balkans. It was the first time anyone could recall that a Democrat U.S. president and progressive left European politicians had come together on the same platform to celebrate what we had in common.

So there we were late at night in the sumptuous Florentine surroundings, where the very walls and paintings were suffused with political history, debating political ideas—actually, a new political idea.

Please notice he is discussing surroundings you, me, and the rest of the 99% will NEVER be allowed to be around.

This could never have happened without President Bill Clinton, who had the intellectual skill to converse in terms the European left could understand without alienating the American public.

Que the Big Dog: as if he didn't unleash this piece of work on Brittan and the rest of Europe to lead them into a "War Built Upon Lies". Of course "Now the Bill has come due" and they like Greece are looking for Austerity measures the public will accept.

It is great that Third Way ideas are back in vogue. This is not just in parts of Europe. Virtually wherever I go in the world from Latin America to the Far East, Third Way thinking is getting a hearing. This is for a very simple reason: It speaks to the critical balance that most sensible people want to strike in public policy. That is a balance that unites a thriving private sector with an efficient and competent public sector, providing services of quality to the citizen and social protection for those who are vulnerable. And it focuses on practical, evidence-based policies that work, not on ideological solutions that may get a round of applause among party activists but are completely unrealistic in the real world.

War Hawks that refused to see the Iraq War Lie for what it was are Not Progressives - they are merely a Tool of the Establishment.

These $Millionairs are trying in earnest to take over the Progressive Brand and steal the movement out of the hands of the 99% when if fact we are closer to making true Progressive Progress then we have been for 35 years

Polititians try to brand themselves all kinds of ways to appeal to voters. Have to ignore what they say, and look at their track record. A corporatist isn't going to suddenly do a 180 and be for the 99% when elected.

The rest should come as no surprise. Even half the Dems are promoting the republican dream.

Income inequality is how these guys are getting rich. There are better ways of making money than off the backs of the poor.

I see it right here, every day. Control language, revise history, take the money.
