When anyone runs for public office, some things should not matter.

In my mind, these include:

1. Age

2. Sex

3. Skin color/ethnicity

What does matter includes their honesty, ability to think on their feet, ability to see global issues clearly and so on...

Just my two cents!

I agree with #1 for any office except President....however before John McCain picked Sarah Palin to be his VP I would have agreed with #1 across the board for any office.

Aside from the fact that being at least 35 is a condition for the office of president, I don't believe children in general should hold office.

While I don't think there should be an upper limit cut off (or disqualification), I do believe it is a legitimate consideration.

I think of Ronald Reagan (aside from right wing) he was diagnosed with dementia

Prevalence of Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias
An estimated 5.4 million Americans of all ages have
Alzheimer’s disease in 2012. This figure includes
5.2 million people age 65 and older(47), A1 and 200,000
individuals under age 65 who have younger-onset
Alzheimer’s.(48)
• One in eight people age 65 and older (13 percent)
has Alzheimer’s disease.A2
• Nearly half of people age 85 and older (45 percent)
have Alzheimer’s disease.A3
• Of those with Alzheimer’s disease, an estimated
4 percent are under age 65, 6 percent are 65 to 74,
44 percent are 75 to 84, and 46 percent are 85
or older.(47), A4

POTUS is a fucking hard job. Maybe the worst job on the planet.

I'm sorry that it does, but Sander's age gives me pause; he'll be 75 on Election Day - by far the oldest President at inauguration. Average life expectancy for an American Male is what, 79 at best?

But both Clinton and Trump are 69, so what the hell. Let's roll the dice. If he drops dead in office after 3 years, fine.

Anything's better than a Republican.

Bernie has been checked out by his doctor who pronounced him healthy and fit for doing that job. He does have some health issues but none that would be so serious as to interfere.

If you make it past childhood illnesses and accidents, you can expect to live a lot longer than 79.

The 79 figure is average life expectancy from birth.

word - it is far too late. So maybe...I dunno, people should THINK about what they do and the consequences of their actions and how it will affect the people on the planet and their future offspring.

IOW, if a person doesn't want their grave pissed on then maybe they should have led a better life and try to leave a positive impact on the world?

There is a huge difference between being famous and infamous.
