From Elizabeth Warren's Facebook Page: "Scott Brown just voted with the Republican Party against the Paycheck Fairness Act, legislation to decrease the gender wage gap. With his vote, Scott Brown is telling the women of Massachusetts he thinks its okay that they continue to earn less than men with the same education doing the same work.
Across the nation, women earn 77 cents for every dollar a man earns, and over their careers, that means they take home hundreds of thousands of dollars less than men. Here in Massachusetts, women earn 81 cents for every dollar a man earns. While that's better than the national average, that's not good enough. Women deserve equal pay for equal work especially now, when women are the sole breadwinner or the co-breadwinner of so many families."

"The paycheck bill would have barred companies from retaliating against workers who inquire about pay disparities and permit employees to sue for punitive damages if they find evidence of broad differences in compensation between male and female workers. Democrats said the measure would have bolstered reforms enacted with the 2009 Lilly Ledbetter pay law that expanded the statute of limitations for filing equal-pay lawsuits. "
