(43,182 posts)You're saying it's based on votes but not a single vote has been cast for the general election.
So exactly how are you predicting it?
Is it one of those things where you put two names down by a tethered cow and whatever name the cow craps on, that's the winner?
Dawgs
(14,755 posts)And how many people I think will turn out.
Again, my opinion. It's okay if you think differently.

(24,461 posts)President Carnival Barker is NOT happening. If the party doesn't shoot it's own foot to save Congressional seating before that, Democrats are going to break poll records. We don't hate Hillary as much as we hate the idea of that reality show nutter making this nation a laughingstock.

(28,017 posts)The real problem is that Hillary is a lousy campaigner. She really is. Given all the built in advantages, including a lapdog press, the DNC, and some truly suspect games played in primaries and Iowa, she should have had a cake walk. The fact that she did not, and that she will lose some large states coming up soon, that tells us something.
I don't even hope for a pleasant surprise from her, if by chance she manages to prevail against Trump (which I don't think she can). I had my hopes smashed often enough by the current president, who always sought compromise and a deal, rather standing up for principle. Just look at his Supreme Court nominee. Smart, nice, and a complete utter compromise on progressive issues.
If she wins, we have a tough, sad four years ahead of us. If she loses, we have an even worse four years ahead of us.

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Pushing Donald Trump as president on a Democratic forum is over the top.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Wed Mar 16, 2016, 10:18 AM, and the Jury voted 3-4 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Anti-Democratic propaganda has no place on DU.
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: This is a Democratic board, we don't need to push for a Republican, it is time to stop the talking points like this.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: They aren't pushing president Trump, you dolt, they're lamenting him. Fuck me running, you people are touchy.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I'm scratching my head over this alert.
Juror #6 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Disruptive, ott flame bait
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Well it could happen and IMO no one is pushing anything....in fact they seem to be fearful of Trump.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(12,655 posts)we will get through this.
and while most do not like to hear this, he is actually quite centrist/left on many issues....campaign reform, non interventionism, single payer, no tpp. its why he will win. he can run to the right AND the left of hillary if she is the nom.
but we will be ok. the lobbyists and corrupt pols, not so much.

(12,655 posts)my guess, since he is a "dealmaker" and his ego likes to check off on his "stuff i did" list, he will nominate centrist moderates who, while not ideal to either side, will be acceptable. they will be prochoice, support the aca, and less scalia like than what he keeps saying now.

(12,655 posts)here are his own words to anderson cooper
Now, the new plan is good. Its going to be inexpensive. Its going to be much better for the people. But theres going to a group of people at the bottom people that havent done well. People that dont have any money that wont be able to be care of.
Were going to take care of them through maybe concepts of Medicare. We have hospitals that arent doing well, we have doctors that arent doing well. You cannot let people die on the street, OK?

(12,655 posts)much of trumps rhetoric is trying to placate the base. i don't think for a minute he is going to start rounding people up to deport. he knows the logistics won't work. he just doesn't want to admit that in the primaries.
so much of this is showmanship, and he is the master of showmanship.
