Huffington Pissed

Ariana's site is a virtual virus! I clicked a link to it, by accident, and ended up with a pop-behind ad page that gobbled up almost a gigabyte of memory and slowed everything down to a crawl. I plead for people not to do blind links to that worthless website.

Thanks in advance. Now, I've rebooted and gotten rid of the thing.

I use Firefox on a vintage computer and the damned site crashes my browser EVERY time downloading all the superfluous videos. I avoid it like a plague.

I stopped going to that site intentionally a long, long time ago. It's worse than Drudge for loading up my browser with crap these days. HuffPo is a plague on the Internet, IMO.

And pumped out bad ads and ransom-ware crap to many sites, including the NY Times. (For those who don't know, ransom-ware encrypts your data and they try to get you to pay to release it)

My machine is fairly well protected against most exploits. I also keep a copy of Chrome's own task manager open so I can end any task that locks up my computer without clicking on anything if a malware ad locks up my browser and won't let me close it.

It's just that Huffinton Posed and a few other sites consistently abuse their privileges. Once in a while someone posts a blind link, using a URL shortening site. Normally, I refuse to click such links. I made a mistake today.

I do not like Ariana Huffington. She was, and is, a Republican. I knew her in California and have never trusted her a bit.
