Kids KNOW The Truth!
An illustration that 10-year-old Iain MacIntyre from the beleaguered Genesee County city apparently drew in time for Michigan Gov. Rick Snyders testimony before the U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on Thursday has gone viral, earning raves for its blunt assessment.
The black and white drawing that Flint area activist Nayyirah Shariff posted on Twitter shows a faceless stick figure with a huge quote balloon featuring a single word repeated a dozen times: Lie.
Iain, his mother Laura, a University of Michigan-Flint lecturer, and brother Broghan headed to the Washington, D.C., hearing on Thursday along with other families affected by the crisis, according to the AFL-CIO.
His simple representation of what he thought about the governors stance was the perfect response, Shariff tweeted.
And in a post with a headline calling Iain Americas most biting editorial cartoonist, Gawker.com was even more glowing about the artwork, suggesting the youth deserved consideration for a Pulitzer Prize, which honors excellence in journalism and the arts.
