(7,875 posts)Oh well, the wedge (not just the thin end of it) is in. Good bye democracy, good bye republic. You've had a good run, but now it's time to let the corporations run everything.

(712 posts)Look at the graph at http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/2012/wisconsin-recall-results#graph
The differences between 2010 and 2012 are quite notable. If look at the diagonal shown, all the data points which are above it are data points where the results are more favorable to Walker in 2012 (with the votes counted so far) than they were in the 2010 election. Two counties that kind of jump out are Milwaukee county. However, I know almost nothing about Wisconsin* so I don't know what the significance of this is (if any).
* I have found some very fine cheese from there, though. Don't get all snobby about European cheeses because we have some very good ones in this country and some seem to be from Wisconsin.

(712 posts)Milwaukee county flipped all of a sudden and is now much closer to what it was in 2010. In fact, everything seems to be attracted to the diagonal line as late votes keep coming in even though they still remain mostly above the line (meaning that Walker gained votes as compared to 2010).
