It is absolutely disgusting that the mainstream media call an election

Last edited Wed Jun 6, 2012, 02:46 AM - Edit history (1)

while the polls are still open. It is friggin' obscene. Calling an election while people are still standing in line to vote desecrates the memories of those who died for us to be able to vote. And it should be against the law for any company using the public airwaves to do so.

Hearing reports that NBC called the election while the polls were still open in Milwaukee and people still lined up to vote.

My post has nothing to do with the fascist who 'won' in Wisconsin tonight. My post has to do with the soul of 'one man, one vote.'

I hear stories of the effective disenfranchisement of voters by an irresponsible media. But you're right, I probly would not have gotten in such high dudgeon had NBC called it for Barrett. At least not tonight.

5. Every link I had opened had < 10% of precinct's results when NBC called it.

How'd they know? Guess we don't need to actually count votes, or spend tax money on voting machines, or take time off from work to vote. All we need to do is watch TV. That'll tell us who wins democratic elections.

tbe election for Walker while the polls in Milwaukee were still open and people were still standing in line to vote.

Was this untrue?

If so, I stand prepared to delete this OP (or to apologize to DU or whatever you do when you screw up.)

10. People who were in line at 8 local time when the polls closed could still vote.

Reportedly, in some precincts this took until almost 10 PM local time (11 Eastern). However, the polls were closed for at least an hour before NBC called it, and no new voters could have shown up at the polls since then.

dudgeon over something less than what I wrote originally.

Something still bothers me about the MSM calling a race before all votes have been cast and it sounds like this did happen. Still, it sounds like the polls were technically 'closed' before NBC called the race.

I appreciate your taking the time to correct my misleading OP. Should I just let the thread die a natural death or delete it? I'm unclear on DU etiquette in such matters.

The network are calling elections with only 1% of the votes counted and this is determined by using exit polls conducted only with 2381. It is all rigged
