Harriet Tubman was highly religious. At one time she even claimed God had spoken to her and that her dreams came from Jesus himself. She was also anti-establishment. She owned a gun. She favored the Republicans. I guess being against the Confederacy is what people don't like?
Most of the Suffragettes were Republicans too. They are going on the back of the $10 bill. Lincoln is on the front of the $5. He's a Republican. General Grant was a Republican. He's on the $50. A lot of Republicans on the money. What are they crying about?
In fact, will there be ANYONE on the paper currency who was a registered Democrat? Not even FDR who saved us from WW2 and the Great Depression? No Eleanor Roosevelt?
Honestly though...there are probably more important issues for the government to worry about than who's on the money. I do agree with that. This really isn't that important in the grand scheme of things. Ultimately, I don't think anyone really cares who is on the currency. They care far more what's it's value is than who is on it. Plus, we seem to be moving more and more to a digital currency. We don't even physically see most of the money we spend anymore. It's digits on a computer screen. Today, we see our debit cards far more than we see old, dead presidents. By the time these bills come out, will we still be using paper money? A bit of a shame if not. I have a tiny collection of foreign currency. Not worth anything, just cool to have a little money from everywhere I've been. Sentimental value. If no one is making money anymore, I'll have to find something else to collect.
Other than that....I don't see the big deal. Like I've said before, I'd rather see landmarks than people on money anyway. No one outside America knows who these people are (and embarrassingly many Americans probably don't know either).

from Toronto to Vancouver on their $10. Each denomination is a different color.

National historic landmarks--whether landscape or buildings or bridges--would be a lot more fun in color.
American $$ is so boring, IMO.
