No Surprise: Trump Is a Union Buster at His Own Hotel
Their boss is famous for firing people with merciless gusto. So you can imagine it took just as much chutzpah for the workers at the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas to rally today and demand the right to unionize and to gain respect on the job.
While the Donald seeks election to a new post, roughly 500 workers at the hotel are focusing on a very different vote: They’ve been pushing to form a union for months, and are trying to snatch a bit of Trump’s campaign spotlight this summer to call on him “Make America Great Again” right on his home turf. As a recent ad for the unionization campaign proclaims: “We think that working for Mr. Trump in Las Vegas is a chance to make our lives better…but only if he pays us the same wages and benefits as everyone else working on the Strip.”

Of course, what do they expect from the man who’s built a brand for himself as a ferocious corporate overlord? His attitude on the campaign trail is as ruthless as his management style, laced with racial invective and almost self-caricaturing jingoism. (Not to mention hypocrisy—just ask the many low-wage immigrant laborers he has exploited over the years). But amid the buffoonery, the local hospitality union, Culinary Workers Union Local 226, is pressing serious charges of labor violations and denouncing his operations as a bastion of union busting in an otherwise union town.

Yet another reason to move heaven, hell, and all other extradimensional regions that may or may not exist to see that he is never allowed to become President.

We should not be surprised that he is anti-union.
Remember this come Novem ber.

1. "Trump 'Loves' Right to Work"

From the AFL-CIO link:

"The Teamsters Union is an example, you know, the workers, not the top people, because I fight them all the time, and I fight the unions very hard. But there are certain areas of the country where you only have unions. You don't have right-to-work," he said.

Some labor leaders clearly do not like the idea of a President Trump. In August, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka called the GOP field "hateful and racist." Trumka did not mention Trump by name, but the comment was in reaction to the immigration debate in the GOP primary, which Trump has dominated by proposing a wall on the Mexican border and banning any further immigration by Muslims.

Throughout the interview Trump drew a distinction between the union leaders, who he said he had sometimes had issues with, and the rank and file members, who he praised effusively and said he had a strong connection with. "The union people, the people in unions, they seem to really want to vote for me. It's been amazing," he said.

Trump wants to spread "right-to-work" nationwide but he claims to be 'pro-worker'.

Unions fight for pay; managers fight for less; consumers win. (Jul 2000)

The Above were from Trump on the issues.

Bring on the competition; tear down the union walls[link:http://www.ontheissues.org/2016/Donald_Trump_Education.htm#5|]

This thread is about the Republican's choice of opponent. We can discuss the Clinton or Sanders in GD-P.

I consider Unions to be essential in our fight to improve wages and work conditions.

8. I agree, I belong to one. However like Trump, Clinton seems to have the same dim view of them.
