Proposing “No Honeymoon for Hillary” plan

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by tammywammy (a host of the General Discussion forum).

Assuming that HRC wins the Democratic nomination for President, I'll hold my nose and vote for her in the GE, but I will never trust her. She is nothing but a lesser of 2 evils choice for me.

I think the next phase Progressives need to take is that the nanosecond after HRC wins the GE, is to implement a “No Honeymoon for Hillary” plan. That plan is to scrutinize every appointment she makes to staff agencies and cabinet positions as well has be a hawk on her policy positions right after she wins the GE. Since she is campaigning on being able to hit the floor running as President, HRC has no need for a honeymoon period.

And of course, the rest of the Democrats in Congress, especially HRC’s super delegates, need to be scrutinized and pressured as well by Progressives.

After all, that is how American Democracy works. The end of the election is not the end of democracy.
And we'll know we are doing our job when the Ed Rendell's, Rahm Emmanuels, et all screech their complaints to the media about us.

Our response to the Turd Way (old DLC) whiners needs to be the famous saying of Frederick Douglas, "Power gives up nothing without a fight, never has, never will." If they don't like American Democracy, then they can move to China.

As a working class American I will never vote for someone that threatens to diminish our power. The "gig" or "sharing" economy is for suckers and that is what she represents by making us fight over left-over scraps.

for Democrats to get legislation passed, and then promote the same sort of loyalty test that the GOP and the NRA employs to reinforce their ideological purity. Look, buttercup, if you wanna shoot yourself in the foot, go for it, but don't tell anyone, it's embarrassing.

Are you sure you sure you're in the right forum? I hate to tell you, but this isn't progressive thinking, it's BS stuff that Republicans have been doing for years to block Democrats.

their "ideological standards" differ than yours, by a fairly wide margin. This, then, makes it their party. So when you burn your registration card, remember, don't pollute... say, that might be one of those "ideological standards". Maybe you could just eat it instead... roughage is healthy.

Procon, this is America. In America, the citizens own the government.

New concept for you? Never took a civics class?

You may not have intended it, but your comment sounds like a call for dictatorship and the suppression of dissent.

Medicare and other progressive programs.

Just because a congressperson or President calls themselves a Democrat does not mean that they believe in core Democratic principles.

As Thomas Frank says, Bill Clinton connived with Republicans and Big Money interests to pass NAFTA, which George H.W. Bush could not get passed, and which led to the economic ruin of many union members and working Americans. Democrats have helped create the income inequality we have today. Can not deny it.

As I've said, Bill Black to regulate banks; Richard Clark for Homeland Security, etc.

AND include the candidates Hillary's more likely to favor, with their backgrounds, "accomplishments"?

Progressives would be unwise to lay off HRC after she wins the GE.

And the mistrust Democrats, like me, have for HRC, was earned by HRC.

Trump, for example, has just called for a ZERO dollar minimum wage.

The difference between the parties couldn't be more stark.
