(3,426 posts)I mean how is it you ask can he take that kind of abuse. Christie according to all accounts operates like a mobster. He is therefore the very definition of the abusive personality . Christie wears a mask same as any other predator. He doesn't hide it well though. You might say the hot blooded thing has something or much to do with it, you know his Italian'ness, indeed that's part of it. Christie isn't fool enough to sucker punch Trump literally. But the same as Christie sucker punched himself figuratively, that is when he took himself down much more quickly than those in the know, knew he would ultimately do ,. That thing that makes Christie what he is actually will no doubt come back and bite Trump in the ass.
Now Christie would or will sware he has no idea what or how the what happened. But such a surprise really would not or will not come about as a great surprise to those in New Jersey in the know about Christie's little problem -or his enormous problem !
Now I suppose if you were to feel sorry for that, it would be the nice guy Christie likes to show you -you know like at those little town hall meets. But if you know or have seen that guy behind his mask, well that can go to hell along with the rest of that kind.
And no Christie cannot see it coming because if he could he wouldn't have taken himself down. That should tell you a little something about that particular brand of hot headiness. And he is without a doubt a vindictive little prick that carries a lot of weight.
Christie no doubt convinced himself that Trump is grooming him . To remain relevant, he will take all Trump dish's out-hell too much is never enough. But than there is that thing Christie does that always comes back on him. Christie might even really wish he was the guy he pretends to be. Didn't somebody do a song about that, the enormous pretender !No no- it was the Great Pretender !

(3,426 posts)his ratings were in the toilet-in the state of New Jersey and the country as a whole . People of New Jersey were demanding Christie get the hell out of the republican race for the white house and do his dam job at home. And what does Christie say about that ? He says the people of New Jersey want me to stay and run for a third term. And he no doubt convinced himself that was true.
And again he probably convinced himself Trump is grooming him for a prominent position . Than there is that time Christie said on TV in an interview, listen to me, Trump is unworthy of the presidency. And the story he told about a dinner meeting with Trump where all Trump did was talk about himself all through the meal and than fallowed Christie all the way down to the parking garage talking about himself every step of the way.
So, Trump is the straight man and Christie plays he who is funny .Dean Martin/Jerry Lewis, Laural & Hardy Abbott & Costello, the Smothers brothers, kind of like that in the Trump show. What is funny you see is Christie has little to say back. Christie doesn't mind at all being second banana in the Trump show because he thinks his loyality will be rewarded and by it he remains politically relevant.
Christie is the governor of a state that does not want him. Why would he want to face that ?

(13,499 posts)NJ folk may gain a bit of respect back for Christie.
As it stands now, there's none. No Republicans I know from NJ like the guy anymore (and he was their darling when he first started his governorship.)
