Woman mistaken for mother of boy who fell in gorilla enclosure
CINCINNATI -
An Ohio mother, who has never set foot in the Cincinnati Zoo, is now caught in the middle of an online outrage.
A woman who shares the same name as the mother whose 3-year-old son fell into the gorilla enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo is being threatened on social media
WLWT is not releasing the womans name due to the sensitive nature of the issue. WLWT has not released the name of the child or the mother involved in Saturdays incident at the zoo.
The emotions over what happened at the zoo are fueling a nastiness that is being felt by one northern Ohio woman
I actually have a 5-year-old little boy and I think that's why I was probably being targeted -- because my (Facebook) profile picture was of me and him and I'm also from Ohio with the same name, the victim said.
The woman said she has she has received numerous harsh messages after Harambe, the zoos 17-year-old western lowland gorilla, was shot and killed. Zoo officials shot the gorilla dead after a 3-year-old child fell into its exhibit.
I have received multiple messages that were meant for her. I cannot believe how many people thought killing Harambe was wrong and it should have been her son who died instead, she said.
