I don't think there's much chance he could lose the support of low information voters since by definition they are impervious to information, but what if wealthy patrons of the GOP decide he is too much of a risk and embarrassment?
What happens then?

Once he's picked a VP, the VP would take his place. But that isn't going to happen.

or how effective or competent he would be.
With the other Repubs, it's pretty easy to guess exactly which evil things they will do and how successful they will be.
