What makes America great is that every maladjusted loser can get guns!

Things not going well? Why not grab a gun and kill a bunch of folk in a supermarket parking lot?

Things not going well? Why not grab a gun and kill a bunch of elementary school kids?

Things not going well? Why not grab a gun and kill a bunch of movie-goers?

Things not going well? Why not grab a gun and kill a bunch of folk at a bar?

America! Where waking up to yet another story about innocent people being shot is a constitutional right!

Socialism!
We can't do it!
Too expensive!
You must hate America!

More 'expensive' (Framed that way) and more stigma (That is real), that's a major problem.

3. Blaming guns is simplistic, and useless....

Blaming guns, passing the next half-measure to limit cartridge sizes, wait two weeks instead of one, buy only one gun at a time, or whatnot is a distraction, It allows politicians to pat themselves on the back and pretend they're being useful, allows people on message boards to look smart, but it doesnt accomplish much.

How about we take our mind of GUNZ GUNZ GUNZ for a sec and focus some energy on finding out WHY THE FUCK DOES SOMEBODY WANTS TO GO MURDER A NIGHTCLUB FULL OF PEOPLE, AND HOW CAN WE CHANGE THIS???

Easy peasy!

Support for that is utterly disgusting.

Guns ARE a rather large part of the problem.

5. Religious radicals have not targeted America only

As the repeated Paris/Brussels attacks demonstrate, there are and will be sane murderers who will find AK47's anywhere, even in Europe where they aren't officially for sale.

Until that wave of religious terrorism abates, it might be wise for owners of public venues to keep their powder dry.

10. You're mistaken to attack religion for actions of individuals. "Religious terrorism" is oxymoronic.

Insanity is not a religious practice. Killing is not a religious practice. If someone believes in religion, are they "religious eating" when they eat, or "religious crapping" when they poop?

Turning this into a religion issue is wrong. This is about hatred and being mentally unbalanced. One's environment and beliefs color what happens when we go crazy, but that does not justify assigning blame to religion. i think religion is itself a form of mental illness and blurs these lines, but still I know it is irrational to blame religion for people going out of balance mentally. Ask instead how society places pressures on different people and pushes them towards breakdowns because of stereotyping, prejudice, hatred, discrimination, poverty, joblessness, wars, etc., and how to address the aspects of society that result in these tragedies every single day.

Don't hate people for their religion just as you would not have others hate you for your sexual orientation or the color of your skin, etc.

14. Your post is an old misconception: ideologies can be dangerous, religions included

In the case of Orlando, mental health is involved, but so is religion. If Islam wasn't so rabidly homophobic, the chances the shooter would have taken a gay club as an outlet for his mantal health would have been lower.

But in the San Bernardino, Paris or Brussels attacks, mental health was not involved.
Unless you wish to claim religion is a mental disorder. I might agree

9. You can't blame people for going nuts in our society, chemicals & all, lead in the water, etc., but

you can assign blame for maklng certain that when people do go crazy, they can buy an AR-15 and all the ammo they can afford. And the people in our society that made certain this was still possible for this shooter is the current Congressional Republicans.

We can certainly blame the Republicans in Congress right now.

Bill Rejected By The GOP 6 Months Ago Would Have Stopped Florida Shooter From Gun Purchase
