Police in Albuquerque have surrounded Civic Plaza and City Hall over a possible hostage situation

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico — Police in Albuquerque have surrounded Civic Plaza and City Hall over a possible hostage situation.

Albuquerque police spokesman Mike Schroeder says information is limited at this time and people are being advised to avoid the area.

City Hall houses both city and county government officials.

Albuquerque police Chief Gorden Eden is at the scene.
