(18,402 posts)me that this board isn't filled with posts at this moment discussing this massively important speech by the president on national security. It's not. Apparently, very few even watched it. Later, they will cheer the "evisceration" of Trump--but the speech was far more than that. It was a passionate summation of American values and principles, of government in general, and a damnation of our pathetic ability to move past political distractions in order to work together: by confirming an important security post focusing on finances, to pass the obvious gun laws, by ending the divisions that separate us and rather celebrate the oneness of our nation, in all its diversity. It was powerful. It moved me to tears.
