Brock Turner's ex: He's "kind, loving, respectful, relaxed, silently hilarious and determined"

Lydia Pocisk, who dated the former Stanford swimmer, described him as a “kind, loving, respectful, relaxed, silently hilarious and determined individual” in court documents from Turner’s trial, obtained by the Los Angeles Times. The pair had been friends for years, according to Pocisk’s statement, but began dating during high school.

Turner, who has become the latest face of college rape culture, was given a controversial light sentence on June 2 for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman behind a dumpster in 2015.

“The fact I am even writing this letter is something I never saw coming, or could ever imagine, this in itself I believe to speak numbers,” wrote Pocisk. “You would think a close friendship of eight years could predict something like this happening, but the type of person Brock is could never deserve this or do anything he has been convicted of in a thousand of his lives.”

Turner is highly motivated and a hard worker, according to Pocisk. What’s more, she said she never felt pressured by him in any capacity and is a “better person” because of him.

...they would be doing him an enormous favor. As it is, they might as well start drafting their support letters that they will send after his next rape.

(Yeah, I get it that there's no way he can make it like it never happened, but it's still good to make the effort. )

that still doesn't mean he didn't rape an unconscious woman by a dumpster and it doesn't mean that he should have gotten the sentence he got.

Being able to be respectful to one woman does not mean he is unable of having raped another woman. Or other women. I wouldn't assume it's only happened once.

But he got drunk and did something terrible. And none of the excuse-making that's being done by his family and friends changes the fact that the punishment needs to fit the crime. But in this case, there's virtually no punishment at all. That's a crime, as well.

The madonnas are mothers, grandmothers, sisters, respected girlfriends, etc. They usually see only one side of these men.

Women not in that category are relegated to the status of fair game and are treated as such.

Stanford tried to silence women’s creepy stories about Brock Turner during rape trial: source

"Members of the Stanford University women’s swimming team were uncomfortable around Brock Turner — and they may have been pressured against telling a judge about those concerns after the star swimmer was convicted of rape.

At least one woman on the swim team vowed never to be alone with Turner after they saw him get drunk at one party, reported InTouch.

“Brock’s arrest wasn’t surprising to anyone on the team,” a source described as a “Stanford swim team insider” told the magazine. “From the beginning, the women swimmers had found him to be very, very odd. Brock would make comments to the women such as ‘I can see your t*ts in that swimsuit.'” "
