Well, since a Clinton acolyte (that would be Rahm Emanuel) is at the center of it all, perhaps so.
Chicago's ordinance to regulate Uber passed by a voice vote with no opposition and heads to the full City Council for final approval Wednesday. A historic victory for Cab Drivers United Local 2500. Chicago mayors never lose.
Good riddance entitled billionaire brats! Your business model will succeed in Somalia, where there are no rules or regulations - it's a Libertarian paradise!
What's with the Rahmbot and Uber, anyway? Does he share Travis Kalanick's fetish for Ayn Rand, or is it simply that he's looking out for the family business? We'll see what Rahm really thinks about competition, now. Competitors are already soliciting Uber drivers anticipating Uber's and Lyft's exodus. No one cares about Uber. People will gladly crawl into a stranger's car with a "Fare" or "GoGetMe" or "Juno" sticker in their window.
If pro-labor is splitting, then I'm a divider not a uniter.

(29,713 posts)and give them more credence. I'm just a store owner so I don't really have anything to do with unions (one person shop) but I certainly appreciate their importance. I'm glad the taxi drivers prevailed over Uber. They are out of Austin too. Texas is a right to work state, but the people of Austin gave them the boot.
