John McCains Opponent Sees Donations Pour In After McCain Blamed Obama For Orlando

Of course, McCain is wrong about President Obama pulling the troops out of Iraq. That was a decision made by President Bush in 2008. President Obama merely honored the agreement signed by the former president.
But McCain could be the former Senator from Arizona because of his inflammatory accusation against President Obama.
As it turns out, donations have been pouring in for his opponent Democratic Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick to the tune of at least $100,000 alone since McCain made the remarks. McCain angered many people with his disrespectful comments about President Obama and so they are responding by supporters his challenger.
In addition, a poll touted by Kirkpatricks campaign in the wake of McCains remarks shows him losing to her by two points.
Kirkpatrick spokesman D.B. Mitchell slammed McCain for his remarks and urged people to help oust him from Congress.
John McCain is currently facing one of the toughest re-election efforts for a Republican this year. Losing his race could very well tip the balance in the Senate and give the majority back to the Democratic Party.

(26,289 posts)I never really go the impression that McCain had anything else going for himself, other than being a Senator. I don't believe you can get too old to 'reinvent' yourself, but losing the 2008 election did seem to set his wounded pride and psyche into cement. I could see this spelling the end for John McCain.
My hope would be he would FINALLY apologize for loosing Palin onto the country, but that is likely way too much to hope for.

If he can't win the seat again, I have no doubt he will spend the rest of his miserable life making life miserable for those who prevented him from what he sees as his.

(10,337 posts)...state lawmaker Rep. Mark Finchem, of Oro Valley, posted a link on his Facebook page to Jihadwatch.org, a blog affiliated with the conservative think-tank David Horowitz Freedom Center.
Is Obama facilitating jihad? Finchems post read. Its a legitimate question given his statement.
The article claimed that Obamas post-Orlando speeches were an attempt to give preferred status to Muslims over other religious groups.
By his words and policies and through such highly symbolic events, Obama has proven that he seeks to do far more than merely cover up the Cross. The article reads: He seeks to conquer it, and replace it with the calligraphy of Allah.
In another post Finchem suggested that Obama move to another country.
Im thinking this clown just needs to find a country he can love, and live with and move there, said Finchems post.
Finchem represents Legislative District 11, which includes parts of Eloy, Arizona City and far-western Casa Grande.
Finchem regularly posts Bible quotes. One of them, posted three days after the Orlando attacks, is the same verse that landed Texas Republican Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick in hot water after it appeared on Twitter just hours after the attack.
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life-Galatians 6 -8 NIV, Finchems post said.
Patricks tweet with the verse was deleted a few hours after it was posted when it created public outcry. His staff claimed it was scheduled to be put out on Patricks Twitter account the Thursday before the attacks. Finchems post was still on his Facebook page Thursday.
Finchems far-right leanings are no surprise. His campaign website from 2014 shows he has strong positions against abortion and for traditional family values. In addition he is labeled as having worked with the tea party on his Facebook page.

don't ever forget his role, and subsequent perjury, basically, to get himself off the hook as one of the Keating Five:

Think back to when Senator John McCain sat with his attorney during a Senate Ethics Committee hearing on the Keating Five Savings and Loan Scandal. Carefully timed leaks during the investigation successfully deflected the blame from McCain to his other Senate colleagues. Evidence continues to surface that points to John McCain as the possible source of those leaks.
Should he have been expelled from the Senate? Exclusive evidence reveals the Keating Five story you've never heard.

(28,795 posts)For nearly 30 years, Carol {McCain} has maintained a dignified silence about the accident, McCain and their divorce. But last week at the bungalow where she now lives at Virginia Beach, a faded seaside resort 200 miles south of Washington, she told The Mail on Sunday how McCain divorced her in 1980 and married Cindy, 18 years his junior and the heir to an Arizona brewing fortune, just one month later.
"My marriage ended because John McCain didn't want to be 40, he wanted to be 25. You know that happens ... it just does."
In 1979 while still married to Carol he met Cindy at a cocktail party in Hawaii. Over the next six months he pursued her, flying around the country to see her. Then he began to push to end his marriage. Some of McCain's acquaintances are less forgiving, however. They portray the politician as a self-centered womanizer who effectively abandoned his crippled wife to 'play the field'. They accuse him of finally settling on Cindy, a former rodeo beauty queen, for financial reasons.
Ted Sampley, who fought with US Special Forces in Vietnam and is now a leading campaigner for veterans' rights, said: "I have been following John McCain's career for nearly 20 years. I know him personally. There is something wrong with this guy and let me tell you what it is deceit."
"When he came home and saw that Carol was not the beauty he left behind, he started running around on her almost right away. Everybody around him knew it. Eventually he met Cindy and she was young and beautiful and very wealthy. At that point McCain just dumped Carol for something he thought was better."

(4,532 posts)On 13 September 2007, President Bush announced that the 168,000 American troops in Iraq at that time would be reduced by 5,700 by Christmas and that additional troops would be withdrawn bringing the total U.S. troop level down from 20 to 15 combat brigades by July 2008. By the end of 2008, U.S. troops in Iraq had been reduced to 146,000
2008 U.S.Iraq Status of Forces Agreement
In 2008 the American and Iraqi governments signed the U.S.Iraq Status of Forces Agreement. It included a specific date, 30 June 2009, by which American forces should withdraw from Iraqi cities, and a complete withdrawal date from Iraqi territory by 31 December 2011.[13] On 14 December 2008 then-President George W. Bush signed the security agreement with Iraq. In his fourth and final trip to Iraq, President Bush appeared in a televised news conference with Iraq's prime minister Nouri al-Maliki to celebrate the agreement and applauded security gains in Iraq saying that just two years ago "such an agreement seemed impossible".[27]
President Obama's speech on 27 February 2009
On 27 February 2009, at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, President Barack Obama announced his revision to the original date of withdrawal of combat troops from Iraq. The revision was to extend the original date of 30 June 2009 for an additional 10 months, to 31 August 2010. After which all but a "transitional force" of 35,000 to 50,000 troops would be withdrawn from the Middle Eastern nation. President Obama reaffirmed commitment to the original complete withdrawal date of 31 December 2011, set by the agreement between the Bush Administration and the Iraqi government.[28] President Obama defined the task of the transitional force as "training, equipping, and advising Iraqi Security Forces as long as they remain non-sectarian; conducting targeted counter-terrorism missions; and protecting our ongoing civilian and military efforts within Iraq".[29]
