How does Trump monetize his endgame?

He made money on The Apprentice, and the more eccentric he acted, the more people would watch, and the more money NBC could charge for ads, thus allowing Don to ask for more come the next contract talks.

How does Trump get out of this without bruising his ego?

How does he make money from failing? No one's going to want to watch the same ol Apprentice. I heard that he wants to start his own "news" network, but Fox already exists.

What's Trump's endgame?

He's pushing for his own network, but it will fail as everything he touches usually does save for real estate where he inherited $billions in property to ensure he succeeded.

In the past he's managed to screw up everything he's touched, but then came out with a few bucks basically by not paying his bills and letting everyone else hang in the bankruptcy.

But where's the bankruptcy here? Where's the payoff?

I never believed he intended to actually be President, but running itself was the ultimate ego trip. He might, in his fevered brain, have thought for a while he could do the job, but it's obvious he can't. He can't take four years of his life dedicated solely to being President. Sure, trappings of power feel great, but there is a job to do, and he's not good at doing jobs.

So, when an airline or a football league fails, he just walks off with the cash and lets investors and lenders take the hit. But when a campaign fails, who's around to take the hit?

I really don't think he's thought through the endgame here. He can end his candidacy by walking out in a huff or forcing the GOP to throw him out, but what's his advantage?

Maybe it's simply that he proved a point to himself that he could run successfully. Whatever happens, he will brag about being the "winner".

But this time we are all the losers.

But I think Obama pushed him over the edge and I really think when he was sitting through that correspondence dinner, when Obama torched him and the crowd laughed at him, the whole time bin laden was being hunted, that's when it became personal for him.
I don't think he's going to quit. He may be forced out of the nomination but he has been on a vendetta for years. I don't think he bows out easily.

Lots of former politicians and government servants do such 'consulting'.

The more celebrity you have to go with that, the more you get paid.

Maybe Donald Dump thinks he can make hundreds of thousands an hour for speeches to investment counselors and on their own pathes to huckster stardom and wealth.

Imagine "2016 Presidential Contender Trump Steaks." They're still Golden Corral-grade beef, but they'd have been the steaks President Trump served to America's greatest allies, like the Indian Prime Minister. Or 2016 Presidential Contender Trump sheets, which the guests in the Lincoln Bedroom would have slept on.
