iT IS A good movie. The people are good, theme is good and it is a pleasant alternative to many things. To me it brings back lovely memories.

TV is pretty much a wasteland on weekends...

My favorite movie from childhood, couldn't wait until it came on, and I'd watch it with my Cairn Terrier...

When I was in college, I got to see it on the big screen and was astonished at all the details I'd been missing...

My college-age sister would rent a color TV just for the night, so we could fully appreciate it when Dorothy opens her door to see Oz for the first time. My dad built a special table just to hold the rented TV once a year.

I'm off to watch on our 50" HDTV with my 9 y.o. right now! Progress!

I would have missed it and it is always such a pleasure. I went to an interactive showing a few years back, so much fun! There were prizes for costumes and some were so clever. My favorites were the 5 hairy men who all came as Dorothy (as a group), complete with pigtails and ruby slippers. And another group came as the Emerald City.

Even in Black and White, I was scared, and still am by the movie. Watching it now.

On a side note, if you can find a copy, read John Lahr's biography of his father, Bert Lahr (the Cowardly Lion). Great read with some good trivia about The Wizard.

This year it overlapped True Blood. TB won.

I'm a gay man. It's expected that I could quote every line of Wizard of Oz. If ya can't, they take your Teh Geh card away!
