Actual response to a right wing chain email I received...

Mom,
Hi it's me your son Rich. Your Liberal Son Rich. Please don't send me anymore right wing whack job chain emails. I'm too busy for that crap and you will desensitize me from opening emails from you. You do want me to open your emails, don't you?
Love always,
Rich

fond feelings for you.

My mom forwards all sorts of nonsense to me. She's 87. I just delete them, and give her a call to tell her I love her. Someday, I won't be able to do that.

And one of the sharpest women I've ever known. I intend to get her on our side, along with my father.

Both are absolutely disgusted with Romney, and openly state that they would vote for Hilary Clinton in 2016.

Granted, they are Southern Baptists, so their disgust with Romney - a Mormon - isn't a surprise.

My dad is a WWII vet and a B-17 pilot in WW2. He called Bush a "damned chickenhawk." They voted for Obama, and will again in 2012. Lifelong Republicans, but sensible people.

Thanks for that expose on a conspiracy theory that was disproved, but I honestly do not think that the President of the United States is either a non-citizen, a Manchurian candidate, or anything other than an American Citizen, and one of the finest Presidents of the United States that we have ever had.

Understand that Obama is one of the better of American Presidents, and has pushed forth much legislation in favor of the people. I'm one of his people, and I am blessed by the things he has done.

Asking him to stop just got him gloating. So I started debunking all his RW crap (snopes, etc.) , and then hit "reply all" . The emails stopped in a very short time.

My parents got several responses like that from me before I made a filter to block them. They've never gotten the message and are proud to not have. It's OK they have two other kids that love their forwarded racist lying crap.

making the statement that the more RW Nutjob emails I get from said relative, the more likely it would be that I would vote for the exact opposite of the candidate they wanted me to vote for. The emails stopped.

I know this is your mom, so proceed with caution, but I would send two items for each one from her, also I would debunk hers and return back to her.

I have found this worked for friends.
