"OHIO!"
I had a funny thing happen once, this guy came into my chat room and he says “OHIO!” so, I thought I would play with him and said “Michigan!”
and he says "what?"
I said it again, and he replied, "No I am not from Michigan, I am from Sacramento!"
He says it to me again, “OHIO!” and again I repeat back to him “Michigan!” and he says, "why do you keep saying that??"
And I say to him, because you keep saying “Ohio!”.
He gets really frustrated and says, “I was trying to say good morning!”, so I said, well you just could have just said “Good Morning!” and he says to me, "Aren’t you Japanese?"
And I say, " No, I am an American, born in San Francisco!"
“But where are you from?”
I respond "California…"
He replies "No, no, no, You are ASIAN!"
And I respond, "Yes I am Asian-American, in fact Japanese-American."
He says, “I know! OHIO!!”
and I say, “There you go again… Michigan!”
By now he’s totally flustered and says “Don’t you speak any Japanese?”
I respond, “Yes, I do speak a little Japanese”
…so he says, "okay than…OHIO!”…
and I say “Michigan!”
He gets mad and says, “Why do you keep saying that?? I am trying to say good morning to you in Japanese!”
“Oh, I said, you mean OHAYOU GOZAIMASU!
” Yeah!" He says “OHIO”
….and this time I say “FLORIDA!”
…He swears and leaves the chat room. By this time all my friends have come in and chuckling at the exchange..
