Police who murder people in their custody or under color of law should face the death penalty.

Generally I don't think the DP is a deterrent for a desperate crack head who shoots a 7-11 clerk. However, I think the possibility of being executed would have a very strong effect LEO. Taking the life of a cop will get you the DP in many states. Their lives are not worth more than anyone else's and they need to be on notice that if they illegally take a life, they may very well forfeit their own.

1. . . . I mean, walk before we can run, and all . . .

. . . . at this point, I would like that the Timothy Loehmanns of the world go to JAIL. Never mind "eye for an eye"; the fact that America doesn't see what a Timothy Loehmann or those Louisianna cops did as a problem . . . is a problem.

2. Life without parole

No death penalty. Under any circumstances.

3. I always find it a little depressing when progressives praise the death penalty.

The sooner this medieval barbarity is abolished once and for all, the better.

4. Nobody should get the death penalty.

I agree that there should be an enhanced sentence for such crimes, but the death penalty is barbaric and no civilized society should tolerate it.

5. The same thing should happen to them as would happen to me if I did that to them.

Equal protection under the law.

10. No, that would simply mean that cops are never found guilty

But they should definitely face a more severe penalty than "paid administrative leave."

11. I personally would not support a death penalty

but I do agree that the crime while in police custody under the cover of law is more egregious and deserve stiffer penalties.

12. I oppose capital punishment across the board.

The minute exceptions are made, the case is lost. Either it is not allowed or it is. My objections have to do with the demonstrable fact that innocent people have been executed in the past and will be in the future, as long as capital punishment is allowed.

Capital punishment is wrong on its face, since every human endeavor is flawed and subject to error.
