I only get recommended groups, but none for conservative stuff. For the most part, the recommended groups seem to reflect my FB activity. I only have two or three friends who post right-wing stuff. I'm not sure how my use of adblockers affects this.

a small "X".
I have clicked that to remove the Trump & right wing ads, until I get one more suitable.

I do have a number of relatives who post right-wing links, so Facebook may assume I have similar tastes, which I don't.
In fact, when the relatives post a right wing link on their own, I remove the link whenever possible without breaking up with the relative, which I am loathe to do.

One relative's wife was so consistently posting right wing links that I blocked her, without unfriending her. That way I can peek in at my convenience and see how her family doing, which is of interest, and only be subjected to her olitics on my own terms.

You can get rid of suggested pages, ads and a host of other FB problems or hassles using FB Purity (yeah, it's safe and no, I am not affiliated with it--just a happy user). Check it out at wwwfbpurity.com

No RW stuff. Though I posted here recently about the weirdness of fb suggestions that I know people in South America. No mutual friends. I threw out the possibility that FB is just fucking with me.

And, when any Trump/wingnut/republican page is suggest, I always hit the "X" to remove it, and check the "inappropriate/offensive" box. I think that's why I no longer see many of them.

You either are visiting sites, or making purchases, that one would usually associate with a Trump supporter, or someone using your computer is.

All it takes is clicking on a post once and they hook your page.
