RAMONA, Calif. — A 52-year-old Ramona man was facing charges Monday for allegedly assaulting two people after attempting to ram one of them with his vehicle over the weekend.

Mark Dwayne Gordon was arrested Sunday and subsequently booked into jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, battery and vandalism in connection with the attack Saturday on Rangeland Road, just west of Ramona, sheriff’s Sgt. Rob Samuels said.

Gordon’s arrest came after one of the victims turned over cell phone video allegedly showing the suspect’s vehicle accelerating toward him twice. Samuels said the man was able to jump out of the way both times.

Gordon eventually got out of the vehicle and assaulted the two victims, knocking the cell phone to the ground, Samuels said. Neither victim suffered significant injuries.

Yesterday, we showed you a video of a somewhat agitated driver harassing automotive photographer Alex Stone, who he felt was trespassing on his “private driveway” (which police have confirmed was actually a public road {emphasis added}), with his truck.

Police were quick to take action and have now identified and arrested 52 year old Mark Gordon as the driver of the vehicle. As well as being charged with misdemeanour battery and vandalism, Gordon is facing a felony charge of Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Here’s the video again, in case you missed it. There is some rather strong language, though, so you might want to use headphones or turn your speakers down.

If convicted, Assault with a Deadly Weapon that isn’t a firearm can carry with it a prison sentence of up to four years, and counts as one of your “three strikes“. If he has other strikes, he may be looking at a much, much harsher sentence.

WTF...I don't understand why he kept saying it was his driveway. I've never seen road stripes painted on a driveway.

Would have been perfectly legal to punch that stupid fuck in the throat then take a knee out. Throw his keys in the field and wait for the cops to come.

Then he would have the embarrassment of having his ass kicked and being locked up

The guy seemed unhinged and a little incoherent in his rage...in other words, exactly what I would expect from a Trump supporter.

To get shot, he was assaulting with a deadly weapon and the ones being assaulted had every right to shoot, cops do it all the time if they are threatened by a vehicle...

turns out the attacker got even nastier when the photographer mentioned that by knocking his phone so hard out of his hand, the attacker had destroyed it, and it would cost hundreds to replace it. This is how the maniac responded:

Then he started to pull his pants down and told me to “suck the money out of his d***.” I then drove off since my friend was already on the phone with the cops.

Folks, read the description field: "UPDATE: As of 7/11/16 the man has been arrested and charged with the following: felony assault with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor battery, misdemeanor vandalism. I will be working with the authorities regarding the charges."

And, definitely charges should be pressed.
