I know they're republicans but why the vicious attacks on gay rights

You expect the odd comment on traditional marriage and such at the RNC.

But that was disgusting.

They respond well to fear and like another poster said, when other people strive for equality and acceptance, they think it means their rights and freedoms are being taken away. It's really just a lack of education when you get right down to do it. Intolerance, hatred and racism disproportionately affects the stupid, it always has and always will.
