Republicans have been spouting off sexist, racist bullshit for eight years now...

Pointing it out at last night's convention wasn't going to do anything. It wasn't going to drive the headlines. Remove Melania's obvious plagiarism of Michelle's speech and the focus, sadly, doesn't just turn to the racism and outright hate of the first night - it turns to night two. The media would've turned the page so easily because, unless someone is actually up there on stage calling the President the n-word, it's too nuanced to even care to report.

This isn't, tho.

This will dominate the convention and does two things:

1) Takes the best speech of the night, one that tried to humanize Trump, and essentially turned it into a complete cluster.

2) It further shows just how much a fraud Trump is and how ridiculously poor his campaign is being run. If he can't even run a campaign, how can he run a country?

Sadly, the racism, bigotry and sexism we've seen displayed for so very long has become such a staple in GOP politics that it's not news anymore. We can't count on that to play negatively anymore. People tune it out.

This, though, can't be tuned out. It's something new. It's something different.
