6. I have to admit, I didn't know a thing about Tim Kaine prior to the announcement.

He's a little too centrist for my tastes, but I just finished reading his wikipedia entry, and I'm on board.

He's lefty where he needs to be, and in areas where he had a right-leaning view of things, he changed his mind after reviewing the evidence (such as abstinence-only sex-ed. He now supports evidence-based sex-ed and use of contraceptives.)

Let's go, Clinton/Kaine!

Perusing photos of him online, he's not a typical stone-faced politician. I get a "love child of Tom Hanks and Robin Williams" vibe--that guy who is smart and funny and you don't realize is attractive at first and therefore he becomes more attractive because that's not all he is. He's got a sardonic eyebrow. Especially some of his younger photos...woof. Definite platonic mancrush material.
