I supported Bernie. He had so many wonderful ideas for our country. Education, economy and many, many other things.
But he lost the race.
I pray his supporters don't try to convince him to try a third party run. It would only lead to a neofascist regime running the government and a future so dire that I can only imagine. We must buck up and vote for Hillary as the alternative is so far away from anything a Bern supporter hoped for that nothing else should matter.
I'm a heretic to some, I'm sure. But, I'll cast my vote for Hillary, throw a sign in my yard and a sticker on my car in hope that we keep the megalomaniac billionaire away from our government.

(58,648 posts)appreciate your concern, but I think all is OK. Let's see what he says at the convention.
Trump is going down.

(58,648 posts)they will do what they want to do. I don't think they are enough to really damage Hillary. People who really supported Benie on his issues will NOT go over to Trump or to the Libertarians. If they were just trolling to support an "outsider" they are not serious enough to be a concern. Stein will not get more than 3-5%, not enough to hurt Hillary IMHO. Trumplethinskin will lose far more to Gary Johnson than we will.

(40,416 posts)Plus, Bernie does not support it either. After all, he's caucused with Democrats his entire political career.

(111,255 posts)at least on this site. Most people here agree with that.
I'll always think he was the better candidate but handing the presidency to Trump because of sore losing is unthinkable.
I can't see Sanders having the kind of ego it would take to run third party. Trump yes, if he'd lost. Sanders, no.

(16,844 posts)He said even before he got into the race that he wouldn't do that, and I think Bernie has too much integrity to go back on his word now. He was the better candidate by far IMO, but it's over now.

(46,179 posts)As a Sanders supporter, you should know this, and should not be feeding the anti-Sanders supporters' propaganda.
As a Sanders supporter, I see no point in trying to "convince" him to break that promise.
